History of Buisman

1867 – Start of the ‘Coffee syrup’ production by the wholesaler and coffee roaster H. Buisman in Zwartsluis, NL

1905 – Introduction of the 125 g Blue can containing ‘Buisman Aroma’

1913 – A new factory is built in Zwartsluis

1951 – ‘Royal’ recognition

1973 – Scholten-Honig acquires Buisman

1978 – CSM acquires Buisman from Scholten-Honig

1988 – Extension of range industrial caramels and caramelized sugars with tailor made Mocha concentrate as well as caramel 150 c and 150 d.

1989 – Management buy out by 5th generation Buisman family member, mr. Rolf Olland.

1993 – Introduction of instant hot drinks (hot chocolate, cappuccino etc)

1998 – opening of second location dedicated to the production and packaging of consumer products

2007 – Buisman acquired by mr. D. van Kappen and mr. J. van Wessem.

2008 - Focus on B2B food industry, with separate sales and marketing

2010 -  Buisman Ingredients BV is founded as subsidiary of Royal Buisman
